So, what about this game that we are here to play that by common agreement we call human life?
We wake up in the morning, follow our little routine of actions before getting busy with the routine of being busy and then we are resting from being busy.
Thousands of days later the body turns to dust and the mind… well, we don’t really know what happens to it but definitely it won’t be identified as “my’ mind anyways, so, what’s the bother?
The only bother that seems to be real in the surreal flow of the game is the game itself. It has no meaning unless we assign a meaning to it. More meaning we place on the stages of the game, more passionately we will try to get that ball in the gate.
Scoring for the sake of collecting points doesn’t seem to be wise in the world for which the meaning is invented… by ourselves… The only score that seem to make sense is the one for the sake of the game itself.
And then both gratification from the accomplishments and suffering from underachievement have little credence. Both are temporary, both insignificant.
The only thing of value is the process, the rush of adrenaline from simply being in the moment, mastering the treatment of time currency.
Some look at business as the mean to an end; some see result of their efforts, sleepless nights and sacrifices as a mean to an end; some just cannot comprehend the end itself as it seems so distant.
But what if it’s not? What if it’s right around the corner and you are just stepping into it? No, this thought is not fatal, it’s unburdening. The only thing that matters is that this very moment is no different than then one that is preceding that very end – it’s as epigrammatic, as inestimable, as nonrefundable. Sounds like a brainteaser, but reflect on it.
It doesn’t mean that pondering on it will necessarily take you to different course of actions. It might, but there is no necessity in changing external. Go ahead, do your little things, build your little career, start new semi-impactful initiatives. Go, play. The exact essence of the game is in the playfulness. Walk with the light and carry the light. Don’t burden yourself with illusionary importance of what is not important.
If you place corporate goals ahead of happiness and alignment of your crew, if your nights are full of disturbing thoughts that again and again recreate the picture of a stressful past and future, then you are never there to notice that river is passing by that island on which you have already built a monument for yourself, buried yourself alive with perceived potential of publicly acknowledged magnitude of your last event.
Heavy. The image sounds heavy, looks heavy, feels heavy.
No playfulness in it. No play in the game. The play is missing.
The very essence of life is missing.
Don ‘t. Don’t leave this world just yet leaving your body for us to interact with while you are already dead… or still dead…
Life is here, right on your palms. It’s in eyes of your coworker, of your neighbor’s dog that just did his business on your loan, of a bank teller, of that red haired cashier girl in a supermarket that wishes you a good day as you by groceries.
Look in those eyes today and see the whole new world in them. Look in those eyes with a new pair of yours. Share love, feel the playfulness of the moment. Nothing beyond this moment exists, nothing matters. Those eyes and a tear in them it’s all there is. Those eyes and spark in them it’s all there is.
Playfully, meet this moment playfully. Life for the sake of the game, don’t waste the joy of play for the sake of the win. The win is dust, the lost is dust. But the moment in which you are – it’s all there is.
Be in it…. fully… undisturbed by anything that is not your essence.
Go to your little cubicle with no resistance and no indulgence. Just be mindful of the game, recognize the game and play it. Just for fun. Play with others. Awake those who are asleep and doesn’t recognize the game taking it for reality.
Game is all there is. No mater what the rules of the game today you’ve chosen, that too shall pass.
Just have fun playing, kido.
