Turnaround 3.0 Game: Connecting Turnaround Professionals and Solutions with Public and Private Companies that are looking for them

2009

I have no idea what bug has just bit me, like I have nothing else to do, but I felt again the itch of starting a new experimental collaborative, business networking group. So I did and you are welcome to join. (Boy! I wish the God, whatever he is, invented 240 hours day during his 7 days Planet Earth innovation process :-) . 24 hours just don’t cut for minds that are always on the roll. And no, I am not a Christian – I am nothing… in all meanings of it. And I humbly state it for the world to be aware of :-) ).

This time I created the group on LinkedIn – just for the sake of inconsistency. My first “baby” was IdeaMama Club that started as a group on Ecademy. It happened to grow in one of the most buzz-worthy groups on the network… and then it died of course – as a group on Ecademy, as everything else in life arises and subsides. Instead it grew into Web 3.0 innovation platform IdeaMamaClub.com with thousands of members that simply are having fun developing new product concepts.

In 2004 I was young and stupid enough to invest into starting up something that redefined the overall ideology of R&D processes – secretive world of innovation unfolded into transparent global idea sharing and developing platform. And even thou it didn’t grew into social media that would scale as fast as Facebook, I was delighted to be witnessing and contributing to the emergence of new trends in social interaction.

It was a beginning of the process that is unstoppable – social innovation, or rather sociobusiness innovation. It is a virus that once picked up can never get out of your system. It’s a wonderful disease, and it’s contagious. I invite all of you to taste it.

Turnaround 3.0 logoSo, experiment # 2, please join – I gave it a temporary name Turnaround 3.0 Game: Connecting Turnaround Professionals and Solutions with Public and Private Companies.

It is an experimental group that is designed, as you can guess from its title, for connecting turnaround professionals and solutions with public and private companies that are looking for them.

The take 1 on our motto is “Life of the expressive human that effects life of capital markets, not vice versa”.

The activities of the group will be supported by an experimental process that if not proven to be successful initially, will be refined as we go with your help.

The process itself will be supported by various technologies and solutions offered by the group members.

We will be collaborating in the group just for the sake of the game. We want to make it FUN, INFORMATIVE, and RESULT DRIVEN.

If you are an executive who is looking for a job, it just might be fantastic opportunity to get involved in distressed companies that might benefit from your expertise. Together we will try to create a job for you.

Why? Because sending resumes and begging for a job is an outdated concept and nobody wants to hire old-fashioned stinky farts (pardon my French). Never mind the biological age, nobody cares how big is a garden of grey hair on your chest.

Companies are looking for proactive, “out-of-the-box” thinkers that can drive profits, pioneer creative solutions development, and empower employees that are bored at their desk doing the same old.

I want us to dream of creating a utopian community of extravagant thinkers who see further than the edge of their noses, see beyond what is now into what it might become.

What if we can change the world one idea at a time, one company at a time, one human dream at a time?

Would that be worth of your time?

So, shall we spare some of it on playing the game of redesigning the concept of life? Not so much for scoring points, but simply to for the sake of playing with people like yourself.

As any game this game will have its rules and its players.

Who are the players? Let’s give them names:

  • Enigmas
  • Seed planters
  • Ideators
  • Haulers
  • Pickers
  • Assemblers
  • Pitchers
  • Crowd-pullers
  • Natters
  • Evangelists

Who are you? Play to find out!

The initial list of the companies for some of which the game is played, is specified on the discussion board of the group.

If you are a CEO of a distressed company, private or public, that is not on the list, feel free to add yours and let’s transform it into something that you will be proud to be called a leader of. Be prepared to spend money on proposed solutions thou.

The area on which we will work:
- Product innovation
- Product marketing
- IR
- Businesses / Channel partnership development
- Sales
- Finance / Cost reduction
- Operations / Restructuring
- HR

The game starts from collective analysis of company’s position on the market, stock (if publicly traded), areas that require improvement and proposed solutions that each member can bring to the table – either owned or sourced.

And then the hunting game begins…

What happens next? Play to find out! It’s absolutely free to play the game. It’s free to join and free to quit unharmed.

Hey, I have no idea how all this works — and it sounds like it could take a lot of time to do it well. But, if you are proposing it — it must be good.

Sign me up — my role/title is De-Obfuscator Supreme (unless of course that one is already taken).

Hello Olga.

This is an interesting idea, going where angels fear to tread. You might want to think about adding some disclaimers if you are seeking to offer advice through this route!

Kind regards,

Tony

De-Obfuscator? What language are you speaking to me, man? :-)

Tony, re: disclaimers… yes… And you are welcome to add your suggestions on the group’s discussion board itself.
